Triple bogey
The following is a longer than necessary dissertation on the conundrum of respectfully adding a photo title amid the confusion of golfing terminology and pure mathematical complexity.
I could alternatively have titled it “An albatross” for this trio of distinguished golfers which would have indicated an exemplary standard of golfing excellence, but the implication of being so far “under par” could have reflected negatively on their status as human beings.
Accordingly the lesser of two evils is “triple bogey” which, whilst representing a somewhat crap golfing performance (with which I am familiar)Â can and should be interpreted as an accolade for these three friends being triple-ly “over par” as upstanding citizens of the community.
Good. I’m glad we’ve cleared that up.
