Leaving home 2


With admiration for those who march to the beat of a different drum. With his headband of feathers and all his worldly possessions loaded onto a hand trolley and the incongruity of a mobile phone in his hand. A few days later I saw him walking on the side of a road 80 kilometres away.

  1. It makes you wonder about his story, doesn’t it? Nice shot.

    • I’ll see if I can find out more about him. Last century swagmen like him (itinerants on foot looking for work) were common in Australia’s rural areas but there is only one other left that I know about in 2016.
